අගුණකොලපැලැස්ස
මාෂ  හා තෙල් බෝග පර්යේෂණ හා සංවර්ධන මධ්‍යස්ථානය (GLORDC) පිහිටා ඇත්තේ ශ්‍රී ලංකාවේ දකුණු වියළි කලාපයේ DL1b කෘෂි පාරිසරික කලාපයේ ය. මෙම මධ්‍යස්ථානය මහඉලුප්පල්ලම ක්ෂේත්‍ර ක්ෂේත්‍ර බෝග පර්යේෂණ හා සංවර්ධන ආයතනය යටතේ ක්‍රියාත්මක වේ. මධ්‍යස්ථානයේ පර්යේෂණ හා සංවර්ධන වැඩසටහන් ප්‍රධාන වශයෙන් ප්‍රධාන බෝග කණ්ඩායම් දෙකක් කෙරෙහි අවධානය යොමු කරයි. මාෂ බෝග හා තෙල් බෝග පර්යේෂණ අතර පලතුරු හා එළවළු වැඩසටහන් ද ඔවුන්ගේ කලාපීය වැදගත්කම සැලකිල්ලට ගෙන සිදු කෙරේ. DL5 කෘෂි පාරිසරික කලාපයේ පිහිටා ඇති වීරවිල හි පිහිටි  කෘෂිකාර්මික පර්යේෂණ ස්ථානය සමඟ මාෂ  හා තෙල් බෝග පර්යේෂණ හා සංවර්ධන මධ්‍යස්ථානය කටයුතු කරන අතර, බෝග වැඩිදියුණු කිරීම, කෘෂි විද්‍යාව, ශාක ආරක්ෂණ, පාංශු විද්‍යාව, ජල කළමනාකරණය, ආහාර විද්‍යාව සහ ශාක ජෛව තාක්ෂණය යන තේමාත්මක ක්ෂේත්‍රයන්හි ජාතික හා කලාපීය අවශ්‍යතා මත පදනම්ව වැඩසටහන් සැලසුම් කර ඇත.

ඉතිහාසය

මෙම මධ්‍යස්ථානය 1969 දී කපු පර්යේෂණ හා සංවර්ධන කටයුතු සඳහා  ආරම්භ කරන ලදී. 1977 දී මෙම මධ්‍යස්ථානය කෘෂිකර්ම දෙපාර්තමේන්තුවට භාර දී ප්‍රාදේශීය කෘෂිකාර්මික පර්යේෂණ හා සංවර්ධන මධ්‍යස්ථානය (RARDC) ලෙස නම් කරන ලදී. මාෂ බෝග හා තෙල් භෝග පිළිබඳ කාර්යක්ෂම පර්යේෂණ හා සංවර්ධන කටයුතු සිදු කිරීම සඳහා 2001 දී කෘෂිකර්ම දෙපාර්තමේන්තුව ප්‍රතිව්‍යුහගත කිරීම මගින්  මෙම මධ්‍යස්ථානය මාෂ හා තෙල් බෝග පර්යේෂණ හා සංවර්ධන මධ්‍යස්ථානය ලෙස නම් කරන ලදී. එතැන් සිට මෙම මධ්‍යස්ථානය මාෂ  බෝගතෙල්  බෝග සහ කලාපීය වශයෙන් වැදගත් පලතුරු හා එළවළු වල ගොවිතැන් ක්‍රම වැඩිදියුණු කිරීම හා රටේ කෘෂිකාර්මික පලදායිතාව ඉහළ නැංවීම සඳහා තාක්ෂණයන්  නවීකරණය කර සංවර්ධනය කරයි.

  • ශ්‍රී ලංකාවේ වියළි කලාපයේ වාරිමාර්ග හා වැසි රහිත පරිසරයන්ට අනුවර්තනය කළ හැකි ඉහළ අස්වැන්නක් සහිත තෙල් බෝග හා මාෂ  බෝග සංවර්ධනය කිරීම. 
  • කෘමි පළිබෝධ, රෝග සහ වල් පැලෑටි නිසා ඇති වන හානි අවම කිරීම සඳහා ශාක ආරක්ෂණ උපාය මාර්ග සංවර්ධනය කිරීම.
  •  නිෂ්පාදන පිරිවැය අඩු කරන අතරම බෝග  නිෂ්පාදනය ඉහළ නැංවීම සඳහා වැඩි දියුණු කරන ලද කෘෂි විද්‍යාත්මක භාවිතයන් සංවර්ධනය කිරීම
  •  වියළි කලාපයේ බෝග වගා කරන පරිසරය සඳහා වැඩි දියුණු කළ පාංශු හා ජල කළමනාකරණ හා සංරක්ෂණ ක්‍රම සංවර්ධනය කිරීම
  •  නව වැඩිදියුණු කළ ප්‍රභේද හා තාක්ෂණයන්හි අනුවර්තනය වීමේ හැකියාව පරීක්ෂා කිරීම. 
  • පශ්චාත් අස්වනු හානිය අවම කිරීම සඳහා තාක්ෂණයන් සංවර්ධනය කිරීම
